So now you've read about feminine energy. You've learned about masculine energy.
And now you're wondering…
That’s great and all, but how do I balance these two things as a woman?
Fair question!
And if you've been anywhere near social media lately, you've probably seen tons of different opinions on what that balance should look like. Some of them helpful. A lot of them confusing.
Here's what I've learned after spending time trying to figure this out for myself. Balance between masculine and feminine energy isn't a perfect 50/50 split. It's more like knowing which one to reach for and when.
More than likely you're already doing more of this than you realize. So let’s dig in and find out!
“Balance” Is a Tricky Word Here…
Before we go any further, I want to throw this out there. The word balance kind of sets you up to fail because it makes you think there's a perfect ratio you're supposed to reach.
Nope! There isn't.
At some points, you’re going to need more masculine energy. You're launching something at work, handling a move, managing logistics for your family.
Structure…decisions…action. That's what's needed and that's all good.
At other times life is going to pull you toward feminine energy. You need to rest. You need to create. You need to reconnect with yourself after months of running on pure output mode.
Also all good!
Rather than trying to maintain a scorecard, the idea is to stop getting stuck in one mode for so long that you forget the other one exists.
When Things Are Off
Picture this. You've been productive all week, you crossed everything off the list, you handled it all, and then Friday night rolls around but you feel…hollow.
Like you did everything right but something's still missing.
That's usually a sign you've been camped out in masculine energy for too long without giving yourself room to be.
Or maybe it's the opposite. You've been flowing, dreaming, journaling, Pinterest boarding your future life, but nothing’s really moving forward. You've got vision…but no traction.
That's feminine energy without any masculine energy to build the bridge.
Neither situation means you're broken. Something needs a little adjusting.
A Few Signs You Might Be Leaning Too Far One Way
Too Much Masculine Energy Might Look Like This
You're exhausted but decide to push through anyway. You have trouble asking for help because it's faster to do it yourself. You catch yourself managing everything around you, conversations, schedules, other people's emotions.
Relaxation seems unproductive. You can't remember the last time you did something purely for fun with no purpose attached to it.
Too Much Feminine Energy Might Look Like This
You have tons of ideas but nothing gets finished. You avoid hard conversations or decisions because you don't want to disrupt the peace.
You feel like you're waiting for something to happen instead of making it happen. Structure and planning seem suffocating.
Is any of this ringing a bell? Most women recognize themselves in one of these pretty quickly. I know I do!
Alright...So How Do You Start Balancing Them?
I think we can make this part super simple. Let’s view this as three steps.
Step One: Figure Out Where You Are Right Now
Like, today. This week. Are you in go mode or flow mode? Are you pushing or are you drifting? No wrong answers here, only honest ones.
Step Two: Add a Little of Whatever's Missing
If you've been in pure output mode for weeks, you don't need a complete lifestyle overhaul. Simply add a few things that pull you back toward your feminine energy.
That could look like taking a longer shower without rushing through it. Putting on music while you cook instead of listening to a business podcast. Saying yes to something fun and spontaneous this weekend.
If you've been floating and nothing's getting done, try giving yourself one small structure, like a decision or a boundary. Perhaps a task you've been avoiding that takes twenty minutes or less. Once you’ve started, you’re likely to keep going.
Step Three: Stop Judging Which Mode You're In
This is a big one! For whatever reason, women often feel guilty for being too driven (or too soft), depending on who's watching.
Guess what? You're allowed to be both!
You're allowed to be direct at work at 2:00 pm and completely unstructured on your couch by 7:00 pm. I’d call that healthy range.
Show & Tell Time
Let me paint a quick picture for you.
Let’s say you've got a big week at work. Deadlines, meetings, lots of decisions to be made, etc. You're in masculine energy and that's exactly where you need to be!
But on Wednesday night, instead of meal prepping and reorganizing your closet, you take a bath, call your best friend, and watch something ridiculous on Netflix. Now you’re choosing to shift into feminine energy.
Please resist the urge to think that you’re abandoning productivity! Really you’re giving yourself permission to come back to it once you’re fully refreshed.
Here’s another one…
You've had a relaxing, creative weekend. You painted, rested, then wandered around a bookstore for an hour. Wonderful!
And then Sunday evening, you sit down for thirty minutes, map out your week, and make a couple of decisions that you've been putting off. That's you pulling masculine energy back in before Monday comes.
See how that works? Healthy balance!
Stop Comparing Your Balance!
Here's something I wish I understood earlier on. The balance is going to look different for you than it does for someone else. And it's going to look different for you at 25 than it does at 35 or even 45.
Your natural resting point might lean a little more toward one energy than the other. That's fine!
The work’s not in becoming a perfectly balanced person who never tips in either direction. I’d dare say that’s impossible.
Instead, the work is knowing yourself well enough to notice when you've been driving in one lane too long and you need to get over before you miss your exit.

Now You've Got the Language for It
If you walked away from my post on masculine energy seeing yourself a little differently, I hope this one does the same thing.
You already have access to both of these energies that you've been using your whole life. The only difference now is that you can see them, name them, and balance them out as you see fit.
